Mabel’s guide and the fishing reel
New players get a guided first day. Fishing has a reel now, each water keeps its own streak, and the Community Center pays more.
What changed
- Mabel now shows new players around: a glowing ring on the one thing to click, from your first seed to your first sale, and a word on each screen as you go. She asks your name once the first harvest is in, celebrates your first hand-in, and keeps a gift in her basket for you every day of your first week.
- Whenever something new opens, a place, new waters or paths, building plans or a building you put up, the village celebrates it, and Mabel explains it the first time you stand there.
- Fishing has a reel. Tap a shadow to hook the fish, then tap again as the ring meets the circle to land it. A mistimed tap costs nothing; only letting the reel run out loses the fish. The next shadow is already waiting when you’re done.
- Every water keeps its own streak and its best. On a long streak, rare finds turn up more often at that water for as long as it lasts. Only a fish lost off the hook resets it.
- A Marsh Bait Bundle can go on the hook in place of a Worm and doubles your rare finds. New villages start with 25 Worms.
- The Community Center pays more for a met goal: 5 Stamina Potions, 5 Orchard Cordials, 10 Fishing Nets or 3 Woodland Draughts, claimed right on the page with a receipt, today’s or any day’s from the last week. The monthly project’s tiers are richer all the way up, and a 7-day streak’s bonus goes straight to your shed.
- A village left open overnight now catches up by itself, and the Workshop always shows what the sawmill and Clank made since you last looked. The while-you-were-away card finds you wherever you are.
- The Mailbox is three tabs: Deliveries, Letters and Send. The list of every mailable item is gone; the Send form only ever offered what you hold.
- On a wide screen the chat column can be tucked away with the arrow in its header and brought back from the bottom bar.
- Alchemy, Pets, Perks and the Magic Shop fill the page like every other screen, long titles no longer trim on phones, and there is no grey tap flash in mobile browsers.
